Escape Conspiracy

Inhalte
“Escape Conspiracy” addresses the highly relevant topic of conspiracy theories and disinformation. polyspektiv developed the room together with Johanna P. L. Koch, who herself was once part of the conspiracy ideology scene in Germany.
The aim of the escape room is to promote resilience to conspiracy theories and disinformation by making their mechanisms tangible. Both the actors in the conspiracy ideology scene and those who are vulnerable to such ideologies are presented and it is illustrated who is particularly often targeted by conspiracy theories and disinformation.
With reference to people and objects from the room, we then follow up with an in-depth reflection on the following questions, among others:
- What is typical of conspiracy theories / How can I recognize conspiracy theories?
- How do conspiracy theories come about and why do many people believe in them?
- What tools help to convince/manipulate people?
- What can we do about conspiracy theories?
Methode
We use escape rooms as a tool for team building and playful entertainment, but also as a method of political education. In our escape rooms, participants spend 60 minutes exploring a topic, which they then work on in more detail.
